In order to dispel any doubts and avoid erroneous interpretation concerning the above, according to FIV membership regulations for 2017 (pp.9-10), world championships of any class shall be considered "competitive sailing activities," therefore, Italian participation in such events requires Type B Medical Certification. (Medical Certificate for Competitive Sports).
Further, participants over the age of 60 require a Type A Medical Certificate.

Al fine di fugare qualsasi dubbio ed errate interpretazioni riguardo l'oggetto, si conferma , nel rispetto della Normativa Tesseramento FIV 2017 (pagine 9 e 10) che i campionati Mondiali di qualsiasi Classe sono da intendersi a tutti gli effetti "attività velica a valenza agonistica". La partecipazione di equipaggi italiani a detta attività necessita, quindi, di certificazione medica di tipo B (certificato medico agonistico).
Si aggiunge, per completezza di informazione, che per i partecipanti over 60 è invece richiesta la certificazione di tipo A.

In an exciting finale to a week of mostly light air sailing, overall class winners were not decided until the last race in all classes today at the ORC Worlds Trieste 2017. And the new World Champions in each class were surprises as well, none having been at the top of the leaderboard all week during the 6-day format of inshore and offshore racing.
